Game Of The Night
San Antonio vs Boston- 1pm
San Antonio have won 7 games in a row and they are undefeated on the road this year as they enter a Friday afternoon match-up with the upstart Boston Celtics. The Spurs won a hard fought 119-114 game on the road in Charlotte on Wednesday night. Danny Green hit 2 huge 3 pointers and Tony Parker made plays on both ends of the floor in the final minute to seal the victory. The Spurs are 12-3 and they are looking more and more impressive by the game.
The Boston Celtics come into today’s game having won 3 straight road games and playing to the level that most experts were thinking they should have been playing all year. With the return on Al Horford and Jae Crowder, the Celtics are finally at full strength. Their previous 3 wins were against Minnesota, Detroit and Brooklyn, so today’s game will be a major test to Coach Brad Stevens healthy squad.
Danny’s Key For a Spurs Victory- Green’s shooting accuracy will be a key for the Spurs today. Green is shooting at the same levels that made him such a key member over the last 4 seasons. After a terrible season last year, Green is over 41% from 3 and shooting almost 46% from the floor in his 8 games this year. If he can hit 4 3’s and shoot around 50% from the floor, the Spurs will win their 8th in a row.
Danny’s Key For A Celtics Victory- Boston has relied on Avery Bradley’s rebounding to help them win games this year. Bradley is already one of the best on-ball defenders in the league, but he is now of the best rebounding guards in the league as well. Bradley is averaging 8.0 rebounds a game so far. (Only Russell Westbrook averages more from the guard position) If he can get close to 10 today, then Boston will earn the victory.
Danny’s Prediction- San Antonio is hot right now and it seems like only Coach Popovich’s resting of players could be the only way to stop the winning streak. That is until today, Al Horford scores 18 points and 11 rebounds and the Celtics win the rebounding total and the game. The Celtics win the rebounding edge by 11 (49-38). Boston wins 104-100
Games You Should Pay Attention To
Charlotte vs New York- 7:30pm- NBATV
Charlotte has had some of the best teams on the ropes and haven’t seem to close them out. They lost to Toronto and San Antonio at home and Cleveland on the road, in games where they had a chance to win. Tonight, Kemba Walker and company travel to the “Big Apple” to take on a suddenly hot Knicks team in the Garden. The Knicks have won 4 of their last 5 games and it’s Kristaps Porzingis carrying the Knicks during this stretch of games. Porzingis is averaging 21 points and 7.3 rebounds so far this season.
Danny’s Prediction- Charlotte needs this game to jumpstart them back up the Eastern Conference standings. A loss tonight ties them with the Knicks 6th in the standings. Kemba loves playing in New York and he steps up and hits enough shots late in the game and the Hornets win a tough one. Hornets win 103-99 and Walker scores 32 points.
L.A Clippers vs Detroit- 7:30pm
Detroit might be 7-9 right now, but they are one of the better home teams in the NBA so far this season. They seem to play so much better at home and before they step on the road for the next 4 games, they get to play the NBA’s best team in the L.A Clippers tonight. After having beating the Mavericks on Wednesday by 20 (No starter played more than 26 minutes) and having yesterday off, the Clippers starters should be well rested going into the game tonight.
Danny’s Prediction- It’s always fun to watch two very good big men go head-to-head in Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan. But the difference is that who’s going to guard Blake Griffin? I don’t think Tobias Harris and/or Marcus Morris will be able to keep Griffin from impacting this game. I’m taking the Clippers on the road tonight. Blake scores 26 points and Chris Paul has 20 points and 10 assists and the Clippers win on the road. Clippers 106-99 over Detroit.
Golden State vs L.A Lakers- 10:30pm- NBATV
Remember when I said Golden State wouldn’t forget about November 7th? I’m sure they read that they had the score on their whiteboard and my article in their tablets. (Not really, but it would be a nice gesture) The Warriors scored 149 points on Wednesday and the most impressive stat was that they did that with 49 assists on the 52 made baskets. The good news for the Lakers is that game is over, but the bad news is that they play again tonight.
Danny’s Prediction- Golden State is looking to continue the scoring trend tonight. No, they will not get 149 tonight, but I do see them scoring 126 and going home with another victory. Stephen Curry has 27 points and the Warriors starters will sit another 4th quarter. Warriors win 126-103
Not Bad, It Could Be Worse
Atlanta vs Utah- 8pm
Utah finally got George Hill back after a 8 game absence on Wednesday and the Jazz won by 25 in his return. Hill went 8 for 13 from the floor and he showed no effects from his thumb injury that kept him on the sidelines. Atlanta comes into this game fresh of defeating Indiana on Wednesday night. Dwight Howard had his best game as a Hawk by having 23 points and 20 rebounds in the victory.
Danny’s Prediction- George Hill will forever be connected to the Hawks after the summer trade from Indiana to Utah (The Hawks were the 3rd team in the deal that sent Hill to Utah). So with him and Gordon Hayward starting to jell together it will be enough to carry the Jazz to another victory. Hayward has 24 points and Hill adds 21 points and 7 assists as the Jazz wins 103-99.
Toronto vs Milwaukee- 8pm
Toronto comes into tonight’s game trying to end their 5 game road-trip with a victory. So far on the trip the Raptors are 2-2 and need this one to make the trip a successful one. Their going to need DeMar DeRozan to get back to his scoring ways. Even though he had 24 points in their win over Houston on Wednesday, Toronto needs him to score closer to his season average of 30.5 to win this game. The Bucks have enough long defenders to make him work for every point the he gets. But besides defense, the Bucks need a big game from Jabari Parker for them to go home with a victory. If he can get close 25 points and 8 rebounds then the Bucks will take the victory.
Danny’s Prediction- Toronto needs this win because they are now in a dog fight for the 2nd spot in the East. With so many teams fighting for the spots behind Cleveland, every game counts especially ones inter-conference. I like Toronto tonight because of DeRozan (32 points) and the play of Terrance Ross (15 points off the bench). Raptors win 111-106
Oklahoma City vs Denver- 8pm
The Thunder enter tonight’s game in Denver trying to get their lead back in the Northwest Division and find away to prevent a 3rd loss in a row. Denver has won 2 of their last 3 games and find themselves a 1 1/2 games behind both the Thunder and Jazz for 1st place in the division even though they have missed a lot of players due to injury.
Danny’s Prediction- Russell Westbrook starts to make better decisions down the stretch and he will get his teammates involved so that he can carry them late in the game. Denver is much improved but Westbrook’s near triple-double tonight (32 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists) will get the Thunder into the win column and back over .500. Thunder wins 113-110
New Orleans vs Portland- 10pm
New Orleans has been on fire since the return of Jrue Holiday. They have won 4 straight games and it’s been more than just Anthony Davis that has carried the winning streak. They have gotten help from Tim Frazier and Terrance Jones during this streak and the Pelicans are getting more and more confident. Portland comes in as of the worst rebounding and defensive teams in the league. Their struggles have led them to lose 4 of their last 5 games.
Danny’s Prediction- Davis just scored 45 points and 10 rebounds on Wednesday against the Timberwolves and they have Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgi Dieng on their frontline. Portland is bringing out Ed Davis and Mason Plumlee to attempt to stop Davis. New Orleans celebrates their 5 win a row and Portland is going to have to dig down deep to get themselves out this hole. Davis goes for 39 points and 13 rebounds and the Pelicans win 108-103.
Houston vs Sacramento- 10:30pm
Both teams enter this contest tonight with offenses that can score points. Sacramento has scored over 115 in 2 of the last 3 games and are 2-0 with their brand new smaller lineup. We all know that Houston can score points because they have James Harden, Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon shooting from the perimeter.
Danny’s Prediction- The Kings have turned it around and seem to have found a new bit of chemistry and it has shown with wins over Toronto and Oklahoma City in their last 2 games. I like them again tonight because DeMarcus Cousins should have his way with the Rockets front line. Boogie has 33 points and 14 rebounds and the Kings win at home again. Kings 119-114
Watch Only If Your A Fan Of The Team Or Your Favorite Player Is Playing
Washington vs Orlando- 7pm
Danny’s Prediction- Bradley Beal has found his shooting stroke and that’s not good for a Magic team that can’t seem to get points. Orlando is averaging 91.9 points per game (29th in the NBA) and until someone can find the “Magic” potion to score points, I don’t see Orlando winning tonight. Beal and Wall combine for 55 points and the Wizards win 101-90
Dallas vs Cleveland- 7:30pm
Danny’s Prediction- Lets just hope that the Cavaliers do not have a Thanksgiving hangover as they take on the Mavericks. Good News for Mavs fans is that Dirk is back in the lineup. But the bad news is that this is not the Dirk from 2012 and he’s not healthy. LeBron, Kyrie and Kevin shouldn’t play more than 3 quarters and they should win easily. Cavaliers win by 16, 107-91
Chicago vs Philadelphia- 7:30pm
Danny’s Prediction- Chicago is playing solid basketball and tonight they get to play an improving 76ers team without Joel Embiid. Jimmy Butler and Dwayne Wade should have an easy time getting to the basket and scoring points. Bulls will win 102-93. Butler has 28 points and 7 rebounds.
Brooklyn vs Indiana- 8pm
Danny’s Prediction- The Pacers fans should be happy tonight because Paul George finally came back in their last game and now they get to take on the worst defense in the NBA in the Nets. George struggled with his shot and he looked a bit rusty in 1st game back in Wednesday’s loss against the Hawks. But I expect George (29 points) and company to bounce back into the win column. Pacers win 110-104
Miami vs Memphis- 8pm
Danny’s Prediction- Memphis Head Coach David Fitzdale coach his new team, the surging Memphis Grizzlies, against a team he was a lead assistant on for previous 8 seasons in the Miami Heat. Memphis has won 6 straight games and there isn’t much Miami can not make a 7th win in a row. Mike Conley will have 21 points and 8 assists and Marc Gasol goes for 17 points and 8 rebounds tonight. I like Memphis 103-96 over Miami.
Minnesota vs Phoenix- 9pm
Danny’s Prediction- This game should be fun to watch. Both teams will go up and down and the points should fly up the scoreboard. Both teams have so much young talent that for all of the good things you could possibly see, there could be some sloppy moments. But I’m taking Minnesota because of Karl-Anthony Towns in this one. Towns should go for 27 points and 11 rebounds against the Suns frontline. Timberwolves win 117-113
