5 Game Schedule For Your Viewing Pleasure, So What Should You Watch?
So much to talk about from last night. The Rockets launched a record 50 3-point shots, the Cavs won again by almost 40, the Blazers stopped the Pelicans and Pacers won without Paul George again. In other games, the Spurs won again on the road, the Pistons beat the NBA’s best in the Clippers and the Wizards, Raptors and Bulls all won inter-conference games on the road. Finally, the Jazz out played the Hawks, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony used star power to carry their teams to victory, and the Warriors and Timberwolves both won by double digits.
After a night where every single NBA team played, only 10 teams have the chance to play again tonight. So with a smaller schedule tonight, what should you have on your TV tonight?

Game Of The Night
New York vs Charlotte- 7pm
In a theme that is going to be common today, it’s a battle of two teams just played last night. Last night’s game was a back and forth affair, that ended with Carmelo Anthony knocking down a pull-up jumper over Michael Kidd-Ghilchrist to seal a Knicks win. The Knicks are hot right now, they have won 5 of their last 6 games and have now tied Charlotte for 6th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Anthony might have had his best pure statline of the season, he finished with 35 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The most important stat for Melo was the fact that he was 14 for 25 from the floor and scored in every way possible.
Charlotte has went from a team that was 6-1 two weeks ago to a team that is 9-7 going into tonight’s game. The Hornets have lost 2 games in overtime (New York and New Orleans), 2 games where they had a lead in the 4th quarter (Toronto and San Antonio) a blow-out loss (Memphis) and the Cavaliers on the road during this stretch. Charlotte needs to get back to playing defense to get back in the win column. During this losing streak, which is now 4 games, they have given up over a 105 points in each of the losses. Coach Steve Clifford has his work cut for him tonight, to be able to keep the Knicks under the Century mark.
Danny’s Key For a Knicks Victory- The Knicks have been getting solid contributions from Anthony and the starters but the real key is the play of Brandon Jennings. Ever since he signed with the Knicks this summer, his job was to be the main score option off the bench. But his playmaking has been key so far. The Knicks are 4-1, when he gets 7 or more assists in a game. If he’s scoring and passing, the Hornets will have a problem ending their losing streak.
Danny’s Key For A Hornets Victory- The Hornets need to get back to what made them so good, which is playing defense. It starts with Michael Kidd-Ghilchrist and Nicolas Batum being able to make Carmelo Anthony work for every point he gets. Marvin Williams needs to have an effective defensive game on Kristaps Porzingis and the Hornets have to get every rebound that comes off the rim. If the Knicks shoot under 43% as a team tonight, the Hornets will win the game.
Danny’s Prediction- Both teams played a really good game last night, that featured so many back and forth moments. The difference tonight is that Charlotte is at home and in front of their home fans. Kemba Walker hit a few shots in the 4th quarter , Cody Zeller has his best game of the season (21 points and 9 rebounds) and the Hornets end the losing streak. Charlotte wins 104-99
Game You Should Pay Attention To
Detroit vs Oklahoma City- 8pm
Detroit enters the 1st game of their 4 game road trip after defeating the NBA’s best team at home last night. The Pistons have been an up and down team so far this season. They are 7-2 at home and 1-7 on the road, so this trip is extremely important for them. Last night, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, known for his defense, had a career-high 10 assists and all 5 starters had at least 15 points.
Speaking of roller-coaster starts, the Thunder provided their fans another one last night. They won and up and down affair in Denver 132-129 in overtime. Russell Westbrook got his entire team involved, he dished out 18 assists an NBA season-high. Besides the assists, he scored 24 of his 36 points in the 4th quarter and overtime in the victory.
Danny’s Prediction- This is a rematch that the Pistons won earlier this season by the score of 104-88. The difference is that game was is Detroit and this one is now in “Loud City” tonight. Now Westbrook won’t get 18 assists tonight, but he will get 13 and the Thunder will win its 2nd game in a row. I like Oklahoma City in this one 110-103.
Not Bad, It Could Be Worse
San Antonio vs Washington- 7pm- NBATV
Washington went into Orlando last night and defeated the Magic with a solid team defensive effort. The Wizards forced 19 turnovers and held the Magic scoreless on their final 5 possessions in the win. Tonight’s opponent won’t be as easy to stop. The Spurs are coming into tonight’s game on a 8 game winning streak and don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. They overcame a 14-point lead from Boston to win a hard-fought 109-103 game yesterday. Kawhi Leonard’s 25 points led 6 Spurs players in double-figures in the game.
Danny’s Prediction- For as good as the starters have been for the Spurs, their bench has been outstanding. Led by rookie Davis Bertans, Patty Mills and David Lee, the bench scored 56 points last night. I see their bench scoring 40 points and the Spurs win game number 9 in a row. Spurs win 102-95
Minnesota vs Golden State- 10:30pm
Golden State’s scoring spree slowed down a bit last night against the Lakers and their defense stole the show. The Lakers shot 35.6% from the floor and 5 for 22 from the 3-point line in the game. The Warriors might not have Draymond Green, who is a game-time decision, after leaving last night’s game with a bruised left ankle. The Timberwolves enter tonight’s game fresh off beating the Suns last night. This could get ugly, because the 3 of the Timberwolves starters played over 35 minutes last night.
Danny’s Prediction- It’s not exactly a good sign when you have to extend Andrew Wiggins 41 minutes and you have to play the Warriors the next night. We all know that the Timberwolves have young legs, but that means you might not nothing left for Golden State. Kevin Durant scores 32 and the Warriors win easily. Warriors win 121-103.

Memphis vs Miami- 8pm
Danny’s Prediction- The Heat, who were missing a number of key players, defeated the Grizzlies on their home court 90-81. Tonight, is the return match between both teams. Mike Conley should be play more minutes tonight and even without Zach Randolph again (Personal reasons), the Grizzlies should take the second part of the back to back set of games. Conley and Marc Gasol should combine for 37 points and Vince Carter scores 18 as Memphis wins 100-93.
