The time is almost upon us as the NBA draft lottery is near. In seven days from today fourteen teams will be vying for the chance at selecting likely top point guard Markelle Fultz from the University of Washington. Each team will send representatives of their own choosing armed with an array of good luck charms to draw that coveted top pick in the draft order.
Last year the Sixers ended the season with a record of 10-72 and had the best chance at winning the draft lottery, and as history would have it say, the projected draft order stayed true to its form. The 76ers selected LSU sensation Ben Simmons with the number one overall selection. The team is hoping that rookie phenom Joel Embiid who appeared in only 31 games for the squad can bring them to the brink of off season oblivion for the second straight year. Joel Embiid has been bestowed the honor of representing the team next week at the lottery drawing. Embiid took to social media to let the world know that he had been in fact selected and of course added some light hearted humor in true Joel Embiid fashion. All eyes in Philadelphia will be glued to their television sets after last years big break and fans are prayerfully waiting for one more gasp of fresh, joyous, blissful experience of scoring the number one pick!
